Photography Competitions at the Atherton Show

Whether you’re a budding school photographer or a passionate hobbyist, we invite you to enter your best shots into this year’s Atherton Tableland Agricultural Show Photography Competition.

Conditions of Entry

Please read carefully—these apply to all categories:

• All photos must be taken within the last 12 months
• Must be printed on photographic paper
• Entries must be amateur only (not earning a full living from photography)
• All entries must be mounted on cardboard backing with at least 2.5cm, and no more than 5cm, border around the image
• Framed entries not accepted; window-mount mattes are okay
• Clearly print your name, address, and class number on the back of the exhibit
• Attach your Class Card clearly to the front
• No entries may be collected before 4pm on the final day, and only under supervision
• Uncollected prints after 3 months become the property of the Show Society
• The Stewards reserve the right to reject any unsuitable entries
• Nude photos must be tasteful, with subjects over 18 and written consent included

Open Monochrome (Black & White) – Entry Fee: $3

• People Study (includes tasteful nudes, with written consent)
• Any Other Subject

Champion Monochrome Print – Alf Stewart Memorial Prize
Prize: $50 + Rosette + Certificate

Additional Prizes:

• 1st: $30 + Certificate
• 2nd: $20 + Certificate
• 3rd: $10 + Certificate

Open Colour – Entry Fee: $3

• Nature Study: Birds (must be taken in natural environment)
• Nature Study: All Other Subjects (natural environment)
• Landscape Including Waterfalls
• Historical
• People Study (includes tasteful nudes, with written consent)
• Farm or Rural Theme (people, livestock, landscapes, machinery)
• Any Other Subject

Champion Colour Print
Prize: $50 + Rosette + Certificate

Additional Prizes:

• 1st: $30 + Certificate
• 2nd: $20 + Certificate
• 3rd: $10 + Certificate

Primary School Photography – Entry Fee: $2

• Portrait
• Landscape
• Any Other Subject

Champion Primary School Photographer
Prize: $20 + Rosette + Certificate

Additional Prizes:

• 1st: $10 + Certificate
• 2nd: $5 + Certificate
• 3rd: $1 + Certificate

Secondary School Photography – Entry Fee: $2

• Portrait
• Landscape
• Any Other Subject

Champion Secondary School Photographer
Prize: $30 + Rosette + Certificate

Additional Prizes:

• 1st: $20 + Certificate
• 2nd: $10 + Certificate
• 3rd: $5 + Certificate

How to Enter

Review the category list above to choose your class(es)

Submit your entry form and payment online via ShowDay or drop it at the Show Office by Tuesday 24th June

Deliver your mounted photos to Merriland Hall by 12pm Saturday 28th June

Attend the show to see your work displayed!
